Seaborne Airline is continuing its Caribbean expansion with new service from San Juan to both St Kitts and Nevis.

The service will will depart daily from San Juan at 3:25 PM and arrive in St Kitts around 4:50. Service will then continue with a 5:10 departure from St Kitts and 5:30 arrival in Nevis.

Service will also depart from Nevis at 7 AM, arrive in St Kitts at 7:20 AM and depart for San Juan at 7:50 AM.

The flight could be a major boost for Nevis, which also recently welcomed its first flight from another carrier, Tradewind Aviation, out of San Juan.

“Seaborne is building out an exciting new flight network between Puerto Rico and the neighboring islands,” said St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt. “This San Juan service will also add valuable capacity to the system of air bridges we have been developing between St Kitts and Nevis and various international source markets.”

The flights, which will be operated on Seaborne’s 34-seat Saab planes, will launch Jan. 15, 2014.

“Nevis welcomes Seaborne Airlines to serve the needs of our visitors and local travelers alike.” Nevis Tourism Minister Mark Brantley said in a statement. “San Juan-Nevis is a critical link between Nevis and the United States of Ameirca. The government and people of Nevis look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship with Seaborne.”

Seaborne also announced that it would be adding four new 34-seat Saab planes in the first half of next year. It recently launched flights from San Juan to both Martinique and Guadeloupe, and plans new service to the Dominican Republic as well.

“These planes will increase our Caribbean fleet to thirteen aircraft, providing travelers throughout the Caribbean with even more travel options and the service they deserve”, said Gary Foss, President and Chief Executive Officer of Seaborne Airlines.
