A group of marathoners from Haiti completed the ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, helping to raise money for Sean Penn’s J/P HRO charity, which is performing reconstruction and relief work in Haiti.

Running alongside them was actress Pamela Anderson, who also completed the marathon on behalf of J/P HRO.

The runners included Astrel Clovis, who finished in a team-best 2:46; Jean Macksony, Bertine Laine and Carline Lamour.

Clovis was the top finisher on the team, finishing 200th overall.

The runners qualified for the team at the Petion-Ville Half Marathon in June.

J/P HRO is currently focusing on supporting and managing tent camps in Haiti, including the Delmas 32 area and the Petion-Ville Camp.

It now has almost 350 staff in the country, 95 percent of whom are Haitian.

According to the most recent tally, the NYC Marathon effort raised almost $290,000 for J/P HRO.
