The Dominican Republic was lightly shaken by a 4.7-magnitude earthquake early Sunday, according to the United States Geological Survey.
The quake struck at around 4:13 AM in the Dominican Republic, at a depth of 100 kilometres.
Its epicentre was about 8 kilometres east-southeast of San Pedro de Macoris, and about 81 kilometres east of Santo Domingo.
There were reports of light shaking as far as the capital, however.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
