Jamaica Names New Executive Director For Anti-Doping Commission

By the Caribbean Journal staff

Following a disappointing summer for Jamaican athletics, the country’s Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) has appointed a new executive director.

Carey Anthony Brown, a business management specialist with a degree in pure and applied chemistry, will be assuming the post.

He previously served in Jamaica’s Ministry of Youth and Culture, where he served as the Ministry’s Director of Corporate Planning and Performance Monitoring.

Jamaica’s government said Brown was currently on jury duty and would assume the post upon completion of jury service.

Brown succeeds former Executive Director Renee Anne Shirley, who stepped down in January. Cathy Rattray Samuel had served as acting ED in the interim.
