St Kitts Sees Jump in Air Arrivals

St Kitts saw a 7.31 percent increase in air arrivals in August compared to the same period last year, according to data from the St Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority.

There were a total of 11,179 passenger arrivals at the Robert L Bradshaw International Airport in August, up from 10,417 in August 2012.

American Airlines remains the leading carrier at the airport, with flights from Miami and New York City.

American alone brought in 5,421 passengers on 46 flights in August. The next-highest carrier was Caribbean airline LIAT, which brought in 3,610 passengers on 184 flights, followed by British Airways, which brought in 809 passengers on nine flights.

There were a total of 585 flights to the airport in August, up from 439 in August of last year.
