Haiti is continuing to look to Latin American countries for help as it seeks to build its tourism sector.

Haiti and Brazil held a working meeting this week covering potential cooperation on tourism and hospitality training.

Haiti Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin and Brazilian Ambassador to Haiti Jose Luiz Machado e Costa discussed proposed training for Haitian hospitality workers, which would be done in partnership with SENAC, Brazil’s professional education institution.

The meeting comes after Villedrouin visited Brazil earlier this year, as part of a Haitian mission to the country.

A mission from SENAC is slated to arrive in Haiti next month, with the training programme supported by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency.

Haiti has been working with a number of Latin American countries for tourism expertise, including Ecuador and Mexico.
