Direct Mail From the US to Cuba?

It’s been 50 years since there was direct mail service between the United States and Cuba.

That could soon change, thanks to discussions between the two countries.

A Cuban delegation held talks Monday with a delegation from the United States Postal Service to continue talks on the resumption of direct mail service.

The USPS delegation was led by Lea Emerson, director of international postal affairs at the USPS.

The meeting followed up on a similar discussion in Washington in June, with both sides reportedly reaffirming their interest in resuming direct mail.

A Cuban government statement said the meeting was “developed in a respectful manner,” with both sides agreeing to continue talks in the months to come.
