There isn’t a Caribbean equivalent of Cannes — yet.

But that doesn’t mean the region is bereft of film festivals — and the latest one can be accessed anywhere in the world.

The CaribbeanTales film festival, a partnership between Canada-based multimedia company CaribbeanTales and Onlinefilm, has created an online, streaming collection of Caribbean films.

The films cover everything from choreographing carnival (“Mas Man” to calypso (“Calypso Dreams”).

CaribbeanTales said the goal is to create an “internet hub” for Caribbean films “that is controlled by filmmakers and accessible to audiences worldwide.”

The CaribbeanTales-TV Online Film Festival has been streaming since last month, with the finale on Sunday.

Going forward, CaribbeanTales says the goal is to provide a “dynamic hub for Caribbean films that is accessible to audiences worldwide.”
