CJ Pick: Kava in Port of Spain, Trinidad

At first glance, it’s an unassuming restaurant in a hotel lobby in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

But Kava, one of the onsite restaurants at the Kapok hotel, is so much more.

The modern-styled eatery, which has been open for just about a year, has quickly become a go-to spot for locals seeking an elegant but comfortable escape for lunch or after work.

And the food is genuinely great.

We also rather liked the outdoor, cafe-style seating, where you can sit and watch the bustle of Port of Spain go by.

Fresh brick oven pizza, scrumptious satay, inspired cocktails … Kava is a hidden gem in Trinidad’s capital.
