Guatemala Energy Minister Erick Archila Dehesa and Trinidad Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine recently held talks on potential business cooperation between the two countries.
Dehesa said Guatemala was “keen” on shifting to liquefied natural gas, and that Trinidad and Tobago could “play an active and important role given its expertise and accomplishments in the energy sector.”
Ramnarine said there was a “high level” of labour integration taking place between Trinidad and the Central American region at large.
Trinidad will soon be sending a team from the Ministry of Energy and Energy Affairs and the National Gas Company of Trinidad and Tobago to visit Guatemala, Panama and Costa Rica in a bid to “explore further partnerships in Central America,” the Ministry said in a statement.
