Barbados is planning to tap into the Polish market to source tourists, according to the government.

Babados Industry Minister Donville Inniss recently met with Polish Ambassador to Barbados Piotr Kaszuba to discuss the plans to increase Polish tourism.

“We could always welcome more Polish visitors to our shores,” Inniss said.

“There have been talks over the years of air links, but Barbados really does not have any chartered flights out of Eastern Europe,” he told Kaszuba. “However, there are several airlines that fly here that fly to Poland — but I am sure that our Minister of Tourism and Transport will explore all opportunities to increase airlift out of Europe to make it a little easier for your people to travel to our island.”

Barbados has been stepping up its efforts over the least year to source tourists from continental Europe, with plans to expand service from Germany and France.

It’s possible that the German service could be used as a gateway for Polish tourists.
