Trinidad’s Energy Minister and BP are viewing a recent seismic survey off the coast of the country with a “high degree of optimism,” according to a statement.
The view was expressed following a meeting between Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine and Dr Mike Daly, executive vice president for exploration at BP.
The survey is BP Trinidad and Tobago’s Ocean Bottom Cable seismic survey.
Based on the initial results, the OBC seismic is “expected to positive impact Trinidad and Tobago’s natural gas reserves picture,” the Ministry said.
BP is expected to invest $5 billion in Trinidad and Tobago over the next five years, the government said.
