CARICOM Finance Ministers Meet in Trinidad and Tobago

CARICOM Finance Ministers have begun a meeting in Trinidad focusing on the framework of the Fifteenth Meeting of the Council for Finance and Planning.

The meeting will focus on charting a “framework for growth and development in CARICOM,” something which also was on the agenda for the recent CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in Trinidad at the beginning of July.

The Ministers will also discuss issues including the CARICOM Financial Services Agreement and Intra-CARICOM Double Taxation Agreement.

The group will also work to define a regional approach for dealing with the US’ Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA). according to a CARICOM statement.
