Five Great Bars in Curaçao

Curaçao has a thriving nightlife, and the Dutch Caribbean island has bar options across the board — for lounging around by the beach, finding a great brew or watching the sunset. Here’s a list of five great bars on the island of Curaçao.

Netto Bar

This historic local bar, which dates back to 1954, is mainly famous for its signature Rom Berde, a house-made alcoholic concoction that you won’t want to miss. Just be careful — it’s green rum.

Avila’s Blues Bar & Restaurant

This bar, located adjacent to the Avila Hotel, is one of the more famous on the island. And, true to its name, is a major destination for music – primarily live jazz.

Christoffel Sunset Lounge – Kura Hulanda

The Kura Hulanda is made up of two properties: the Kura Hulanda hotel and the Kura Hulanda Lodge & Beach Club. The latter is home to the Christoffel Sunset Lounge — the perfect place for a cold drink and an unforgettable view of the sunset.

Zanzibar Lounge & Restaurant

This is one of the places to be in Curacao. Whether you want to watch a concert or just lounge by the beach, Zanzibar has a plethora of options on Jan Thiel Beach on Curacao’s eastern edge. (We think Billy Joel should have been singing about this one).

Grand Cafe de Heeren

Another popular local spot, Grand Cafe de Heeren is a great place for happy hour and, on the weekend, live music.
