The Conrad San Juan Condado Plaza has been renamed and rebranded as the Condado Plaza Hilton, Hilton announced this week.

The 571-room property joins the more than 550 Hilton hotel properties worldwide. It is now the fourth Hilton brand hotel on the island of Puerto Rico.

“Puerto Rico holds special significance to Hilton Hotels & Resorts, as Hilton International was launched with the opening of the Caribe Hilton, San Juan in 1949, and then enjoyed having the San Geronimo Hilton in its portfolio for several years,” said Danny Hughes, senior vice president for the Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America at Hilton Worldwide. “We are proud to reconnect this hotel with its roots, both as The Condado Plaza and as a member of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.”

The company said the property would maintain its “distinct DNA.”

The other Hilton properties in Puerto Rico are the Caribe Hilton, San Juan; El San Juan Resort & Casino, A Hilton Hotel; and Hilton Ponce Golf & Casino Resort.

“This is an exciting time for us as we once again form part of the Hilton Hotels & Resorts portfolio – a powerful and respected brand on the island,” said Raúl Bustamante, managing director at the Condado Plaza Hilton. “The Condado Plaza Hilton will continue to offer our guests the high level of quality service they have come to enjoy, with the same management and team committed to delivering a warm and friendly welcome.”
