Auberge Resorts has named John Vasatka the general manager of the Malliouhana Hotel & Spa in Anguilla.
The company is planning to open the resort as early as 2014. The property had been closed since 2011 until being acquired by Chicago-based Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners in February.
Vasatka’s resume includes stops at resorts around the Caribbean, the Philippines and the Middle East.
Auberge Resorts, whose portfolio includes the Auberge du Soleil in California’s Napa Valley and the Hotel Jerome in Aspen, was tapped to manage the property in February.
Auberge said at the time it was planning a “top-to-bottom” design update.
The renovation will involve an expansion of between 45 and 90 rooms.
