Belmont Resort Ltd, the developer of the Kittitian Hill resort project in St Kitts, has acquired the Golden Lemon Hotel, the government announced.
The property will become a complement to the five-star resort project at Kittitian Hill, which is set to complete its first phase in the next six to eight months and begin its second phase soon.
“This phase will ensure even more employment and business opportunities for our local people and will further boost the development of the tourism sector for the long term,” said St Kitts and Nevis Information Minister Nigel Carty.
Golden Lemon will be redeveloped into an “upscale beachfront property,” Carty said.
The small Caribbean inn has been open for 50 years in St Kitts.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
