Trinidad and Tobago Foreign Minister Winston Dookeran is currently in South Korea for an official visit.
Dookeran’s trip follows a visit to Singapore alongside a group of ministers from around the Caribbean for the first-ever Singapore-CARICOM High-Level Ministerial Exchange last week.
His South Korea trip will conclude on July 24.
Dookeran is being accompanied by Earlann Moore, an international relations officer at Trinidad’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Over the last few years, South Korea has sought to deepen its ties with the Caribbean, as have other Asian powers like China, Japan and Taiwan.
Last summer, CARICOM Secretary General made a visit to South Korea for the second high-level forum on Korea-Caribbean Partnership.
