Six Great Places to Eat in St Martin

Who doesn’t love French cuisine? Well, in the French territory of St Martin, there’s no shortage of it. There’s classic, Parisian-style cuisine, dishes leaning more towards the Mediterranean and, of course, Creole and Caribbean food. In short, St Martin is definitely a culinary destination. So we thought we’d offer six great places to eat on the northern portion of the St Martin-St Maarten island.

Le Tastevin

A bit under the radar, this is the place to go for foodies in the know in St Martin. Aged rum foie gras pate; Duck breast with passionfruit sauce and sweet potatoes — the list goes on and on. All that with a relaxed seaside ambience unmatched in Grand Case.

La Cigale

For a romantic meal, La Cigale is one of the best bets in St Martin. Seafood, duck, carpaccio — it’s all there in a waterfront setting in the Baie Nette area.

Auberge Gourmande

Auberge Gourmande is a classic, old-fashioned French-style restaurant in the Grand Case area.

Trellis at La Samanna

If you want truly high-end dining, Trellis is a great pick. The traditional French restaurant at the La Samanna resort property is one of the island’s best eateries. (Above: the Andalusian gazpacho)

Sol e Luna

Located in a guest house, Sol e Luna, which has views of nearby Orient Bay, is more in the southern French/Caribbean style — think seafood, vegetables and pasta.

Kontiki

Kontiki is a beach restaurant on Orient Bay beach, with simple comfort food that will always satisfy.
