Belize and Cuba each suffered defeats on Tuesday in their Gold Cup opening matches.
Belize fell to the United States, 6-1, while Cuba lost to Costa Rica, 3-0.
The United States’ Chris Wondolowski scored a hat trick to lead the United States, while Belize’s only goal was scored by Ian Gaynair.
Costa Rica was led by a pair of goals by Michael Barrantes in a dominant wire-to-wire win.
The Caribbean’s next Gold Cup game comes on Friday, when Trinidad and Haiti face off at Miami’s SunLife stadium on Friday.
