Developers Canouan Resorts Development are planning a series of development projects on the island of St Canouan in St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The projects, which would cost around $11.1 million, would include the construction of a ring road, the construction of new sports facilities and new water fountains in Grand Bay, among other plans.

CRD’s design arm, CCA Limited, held a meeting with locals to inform them on the proposed development work.

CCA has said it would conduct a “full environmental impact assessment study” before undertaking the work, which is aimed at opening up other areas for possible development.

In 1990, CRD signed a 99-year lease agreement with the government of St Vincent to build and operate a resort on Canouan Island.

In recent years, the company has overseen construction of projects including the Canouan International Airport, the Tamaraind Beach Hotel and Yacht Club and Canouan Resort at Carenage Bay.
