Bahamas, St Kitts and Nevis PMs Meet With OAS Secretary General

Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie, St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas met this week OAS Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza in Port of Spain this week.

Insulza and Christie discussed the “current context in the hemisphere” and the latest events in the Bahamas, according to a statement.

Insulza presented Douglas with the OAS’ Report on the Drug Problem in the Americas, which was produced by the OAS following a mandate from last year’s Sixth Summit of the Americas.

Douglas and Insulza also discussed the current political and economic situation in the twin-island federation, according to the OAS.

The OAS SG was in Port of Spain to attend the CARICOM Heads of Government conference.
