China will be funding the $150 million construction of the Couva Children’s Hospital in Trinidad.
The project, which will be located on a 60-acre site, is being funded as part of a $280.6 million loan agreement with China’s EXIM Bank announced in March.
Following its planned completion in March 2015, the hospital will have 230 beds, a burn care unit, a central pharmacy, a children’s and adults’ casualty clinic and a rooftop heliport.
It will also have a housing facility to serve as a hotel, along with a retail shopping mall.
UdeCOTT will be supervising construction.
