The Park Hyatt St Kitts hotel project is set to break ground in June, the government of St Kitts and Nevis announced.

Dubai-based developer Range Developments is slated to break ground on the project on June 3.

An agreement was reached to bring the project to St Kitts in the summer of 2012. It is being financed in part through the country’s Citizenship by Investment programme.

The project will include 165 rooms and as many as 43 residential villas and apartments.

The first phase will include 125 rooms.

“We are pleased with the progress being made on this significant development,” said St Kitts and Nevis Tourism Minister Ricky Skerritt in a statement. “One of the government’s key priorities is to drive socio-economic development on our islands through attracting foreign investment and further enhancing our vitally important local tourism industry, generating sustainable, long-term employment opportunities as a result. Range Developments’ Park Hyatt St. Kitts project will play an important role in this agenda.”
