Earthquake Causes Light Shaking in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic

A 4.2-magnitude earthquake caused light shaking across the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, according to the United States Geological Survey.

The quake, which occurred off the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic in the Mona Passage, had its epicentre about 32 kilometres southeast of Boca de Yuma.

It struck at 1:05 AM local time at a depth of 78 kilometres.

The quake was felt all the way to the eastern coast of Puerto Rico.

There were no reports of damage or injuries.
