Grenada has named Angus Friday its new Ambassador to the United States, according to Foreign Minister Nickolas Steele.

Friday is Grenada’s former Ambassador to the United Nations. He replaces Ambassador Gillian Bristol in the post. He had been serving in a position as an international climate policy specialist at the World Bank.

“We have been able to woo him away to serve his country once more,” Steele said in a release.

Grenada is also naming former Ambassador to China Joslyn Whiteman as the country’s new Ambassador to the United Kingdom, replacing Ruth Rouse.

Grenada also plans to announce a new Ambassador to the United Nations to replace Dessima Williams, the government said, although it would not disclose his or her name.
