St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas is on an official visit to Kuwait this week.

Douglas has already held talks with Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Prime Minister, discussing cooperation in areas including investment and commerce.

Douglas is being accompanied on the trip by Foreign Minister Patrice Nisbett and Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elvis Newton.

It follows a trip to another Middle Eastern country, the United Arab Emirates, made by Douglas last year. One of the country’s largest projects, the Park Hyatt on St Kitts’ Southeastern Peninsula, is being developed by a firm out of Dubai.

Kuwait and St Kitts and Nevis first established diplomatic relations in November 2012.
