United Airlines is launching daily flights from Chicago to San Juan, Puerto Rico beginning Nov. 5, the company announced.

The daily service from United’s Chicago hub will leave at 8:20 AM and arrive in San Juan at 2:57 PM, operated by a Boeing 737-900.

“San Juan has been one of United’s most popular Caribbean destinations for more than two decades — we are very pleased to increase travel options for business travelers, vacationers and families between Chicago and San Juan,” said Millie Uriarte, Director, Latin America Onshore & Caribbean Sales at United Airlines. “United is committed to serving the Chicago market and Latin America and the Caribbean.

The addition means United will be offering nonstop service between Puerto Rico and five of the company’s hubs in the continental United States.

It’s the latest new addition for San Juan’s Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, which has been seeing increased traffic from carriers like JetBlue and Southwest. The latter recently launched its first flights from Orlando to the capital of Puerto Rico.
