Benchmark Hospitality International has appointed Philippe Eversdijk as the general manager of the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort, COO Greg Champion announced Wednesday.

Eversdijk comes to the 35-room resort following a tenure as the general manager of the Marriott Clearwater Beach Hotel in Tampa Bay.

“I am so pleased to welcome Philippe to Benchmark Hospitality International,” Champion said in a release.  “In addition to his mastering the language of Curacao, he brings significant leadership experience to his new role, and an important understanding of maximizing the resort’s potential on behalf of its customers and owners.”
The resort was formerly the Hyatt Regency Curacao, until owner Santa Barbara Hospitality removed Hyatt as the property’s manager in December 2012.

It officially relaunched as the Santa Barbara at the end of January.
