Bahamas Prime Minister Perry Christie departs for New York Tuesday for the opening of the Norwegian Cruise Lines “Breakaway” ship.

Christie will be joined by Bermuda Premier Craig Cannonier at the ceremony.

While in the city, Christie will hold talks with KT Lim, Chairman of Genting/Resorts World, who is also a 50 percent owner in Norwegian Cruise Lines.

Genting is currently developing a casino project on the island of Bimini, where it recently assumed management at the Bimini Bay Resort.

Christie will also meet with investors in a proposed development on the eastern side of Grand Bahama.

He will be accompanied on the trip by Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe, senior policy advisor Sir Baltron Bethel and Joy Jibrilu, director of investments.

Christie returns to Nassau on Thursday.
