Radisson has officially opened the Radisson Aquatica Resort on Barbados’ Carlisle Bay following an $8 million renovation.

The 124-room property is located in a marine reserve, featuring a Victorian pier that was recently declared part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

“The opening of this hotel, reinforces our commitment to adding resorts to our portfolio and to further expand our presence in the Caribbean portfolio,” said Javier Rosenberg, COO at Radisson and executive vice president, Owned and Managed Hotels, Americas, in a press release.

Christopher Forbes is the general manager at the property, which includes a beachfront fitness center, two swimming pools and meeting space for up to 400 people.

“We are thrilled to begin a relationship with Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group and their family of brands,” said Issa Nicholas, chairman, Grand Hotel Limited, owning company of the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados. “Radisson’s strength, high standards, leadership and franchise support have established a successful partnership.”

The hotel is Carlson Rezidor’s 16th in the Caribbean region.
