Martinique’s Eric Ildefonse Quartet will perform at the Dominica Jazz ‘N Creole Festival 2013.

The quartet is led by pianist, composer and arranger Eric Ildefonse, along with St Lucian saxophonist Luther Francois and drummer Wenceslas Varasse.

Last week, it was announced that Jamaican jazz legend Monty Alexander would headline the festival, which begins with an expanded slate May 15.

Ildefonse has performed at a number of regional festivals, including the St Lucia Jazz Festival and the Martinique Jazz Festival. He formed the Les Conquerants band in Martinique at the age of 15.

It will be the fourth time Dominica has hosted the festival.
