A delegation from Brazil’s ruling Workers’ Party arrived in Havana on Monday morning.

The group, led by Rui Falcao, president of the centre-left Workers’ Party, was received by Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Communist Party and vice president of Cuba’s Councils of State and Ministers.

The talks included discussions on the process of Latin American integration and Cuba’s efforts to modify the country’s economic model, Cuba’s government said in a release.

Fulcao and Machado Ventura were joined by Jose Ramon Balaguer Cabrera, head of the international relations department of the central committee of Cuba’s Communist Party.

The Brazilian delegation also participated in a bilateral exchange programme with Cuban authorities, and in the Working Group of the Sao Paulo Forum, which began Monday in Havana.
