Trinidad and Tobago Foreign Minister Winston Dookeran met Monday with Organization of American States Secretary General Jose Miguel Insulza in Washington.

The meeting, which followed Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s trip to the United States, occurred during the context of a forum on global governance and reform of the international financial system.

Dookeran and Insulza discussed the “need for greater coordination between hemispheres on financial policies, greater transparency of information, and the recent Americas-Africa Business Forum,” according to an OAS statement.

The two were joined by OAS Assistant Secretary General Albert Ramdin, the First Deputy Managing Director of the Institute of International Finance, Hung Tran; the President of the US Association of the Club of Rome, Francesco Stipo; and the Permanent Representative of Trinidad and Tobago to the OAS, among others.
