Grenada Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell met Thursday with a delegation from the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States led by Director General Len Ishmael.

The group, which also included senior director Randolph Cato and coordinator of the Regional Integration Unit, Elma Gene, was in Grenada to brief Mitchell on the regional body’s ongoing work.

The two sides discussed implementation of the OECS Economic Treaty, Grenada’s appointments to OECS positions and the regional body’s tourism and development strategies, among others.

The OECS Authority for Heads of Government of Member States will be meeting in Antigua on May 15 and 16. Mitchell will be speaking at the opening meeting.

In a statement, Grenada’s government called the talks “convivial.”
