Canada’s Sunwing has acquired the Breezes Negril Grand Resort & Spa in Jamaica, the company announced this week.

Sunwing’s Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts management arm will manage the property, which will be rebranded as a Memories Resort.

The new management will take effect April 17.

Blue Diamond said it the property would be “lightly refreshed,” and that it would continue to offer the “conditions and features” of Breezes Negril until June 1.

The resort has 201 beachfront suites on a 2.5-mile bay in Negril.

“We are extremely excited to announce our second hotel in Jamaica and welcome our first guests to the unique differentiation inherent in the Memories brand,” Jordi Pelfort, managing director of Blue Diamond, said in a release. “Having both Memories Negril Resort & Spa and Royalton White Sands in Montego Bay will help to grow tourism to the island.”

The Montego Bay property is slated to open in October.
