From Haiti to Miami, a Journey in Art

Above: Wolfgang Senatus (CJ Photo)

Wolfgang Senatus, who was born in Port-au-Prince and was brought to Miami at the age of 2, has taken his brush to walls across the Little Haiti neighbourhood and Miami’s Wynwood area, helping to spearhead a burgeoning public art movement.

Haiti is very much on the mind of Senatus, who is also known as Wolfgang Mosaic, who has lent his brush to projects across the area — notably the Pinnacle Place housing community.

Now, he is working to continue his artistic expression and provide a positive influence on an even younger generation of artists in Miami.

Caribbean Journal caught up with him to talk about his art, his relationship with Haiti and his affection for the late Haitian-American artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. See more in the latest CJ Video above.
