The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association has launched its search for a new Chief Executive Officer, the organization announced Monday.

The CEO is the top position in the CHTA, with responsibilities for the overall operation of the association.

Alec Sanguinetti was the organization’s previous CEO; he retired at the end of 2012 after a 52-year career in the Caribbean tourism industry.

The CEO will also be the director of the Caribbean Tourism and Development Company, a private marketing entity that is jointly owned and operated by the Caribbean Tourism Organization and the CHTA.

The CEO will report directly to current CHTA President Richard Doumeng.
