Grenada Foreign Minister Nickolas Steele met Thursday in Washington with Jose Miguel Insulza, the Secretary General of the Organization of American States.

The talks focused on issues related to the “development of the Caribbean country and the political agenda of the hemispheric organization,” according to an OAS statement.

The two sides also discussed OAS programmes including the status of the OAS’ report on the regional drug problem and the upcoming Extraordinary General Assembly of the OAS that will be held on Friday.

The meeting was also attended by Gillian Bristol, the Permanent Representative of Grenada to the OAS, along with four other OAS officials.
