Caribbean Room With a View: Biras Creek Resort on Virgin Gorda

IT’S ACCESSIBLE only by boat or helicopter — but the Biras Creek Resort on the British Virgin Islands’ Virgin Gorda has rooms that are worth the trip.

This week’s Caribbean Room With a View takes a look at one of the property’s Grand Suites, which offer a scintillating view of the BVI’s crystal waters — and one’s own private plunge pool.

And should you choose to leave the room, the resort offers complimentary use of its Boston Whalers.

Biras Creek, which is about a 30-minute boat ride from Tortola, was first built in 1973 (when it was one of the first resorts on Virgin Gorda) and has undergone a series of renovations over the decades.

It now includes 31 suites on a 140-acre peninsula overlooking the North Sound, the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, in addition to its “Hilltop” restaurant.

The most recent renovation at the property included refurnished guest rooms, a fitness room and the addition of private infinity plunge pools to both Grand Suites and Premier Suites, among other upgrades.

For now, just enjoy the view.
