A group of Canadian travel agencies arrived in Haiti on Wednesday for an exploratory trip, the Ministry of Tourism announced.

The group includes 18 different Canadian travel agencies represented by 26 agents, as part of an EDUCTOUR to promote the package currently being offered by Canada’s Transat in Haiti.

Their trip will follow the Transat itinierary, with three nights in Port-au-Prince and four nights on the Cote-des-Arcadins.

Pascale Hilaire, Transat’s market development manager for Haiti, also made a two-day visit last week to the north of the country, testing the quality of service of hotels in Cap-Haitien.

The ultimate goal, the Ministry said, is to extend Transat’s package to the north, in order to include Haiti offerings for Canadian tourists arriving in Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
