Panama City and Tel Aviv have signed an agreement to become Sister Cities.

The agreement between the two sides was signed earlier this week. The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral relations in the fields of cultural cooperation, education, science and commerce.

Following the agreement, Israeli Ambassador to Panama Alexander Galilee held talks this week with Panama’s Minister of the Presidency, Roberto Henriquez.

Galilee was joined by Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai and Maggie Navon, vice president of the Tel Aviv-Yafo Foundation.

The Sister City agreement is reportedly for a period of five years.
