Haiti Receives New Ambassadors from Finland, Turkey, Egypt and Uruguay

Haiti President Michel Martelly accepted the credentials of four new ambassadors to Haiti on Thursday.

The new envoys are Finland’s Anne Lammila, Uruguay’s Juan Raul Pollak Giampietro, Turkey’s Hasan Servet Öktem and Egypt’s Tarek Mohey Eldin Elwassimy.

In a statement, Martelly said he wished to work in “close collaboration” and strengthen cooperation between Haiti and each country.

Lammila is also Finland’s ambassador to Mexico, Belize and Cuba, based in Mexico.

Elwassimy is Egypt’s ambassador based in Mexico, while Öktem is Turkey’s Ambassador to Cuba.
