Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is developing three new hotel properties in the Caribbean as part of a regional expansion, the company announced last week.

The new properties being developed are the Radisson Aquatica Resort Barbados, the Radisson Grenada Beach Resort and the Radisson Port of Spain.

The company’s regional portfolio will expand to a total of 50 hotels and 7,939 rooms in the Caribbean, South America and Central America.

“We are thrilled to further expand our brands in South America and the Caribbean,” said Bob Kleinschmidt, chief development officer and chief financial officer, Americas, in a release. “We look forward to capturing the attention of both high-end business and leisure travelers with these key destinations, while providing unmatched accommodations and customer service.”

The Radisson in Barbados, which will feature 124 rooms, is expected to open in May.

The new Grenada property, which will have 229 rooms, is expected to open in the third quarter of 2013. The 243-room Port of Spain property is slated to open in the third quarter of 2013 as well.
