Grenada, OAS Sign Agreement on Terms for Electoral Observation

An electoral observation team with 16 members from 11 countries arrived in Grenada earlier this week ahead of the country’s Feb. 19 election.

Now, the OAS and Grenada have signed an agreement on the terms and conditions for the OAS’ mission.

The agreement was signed by the Bahamas’ Ambassador Joshua Sears, the chief of the mission, and Judy Benoit, the Supervisor of Elections from Grenada’s Parliamentary Elections Office.

The mission, composed of 16 members (including six from the Caribbean), will stay in the country until February 21, present in Grenada’s 15 constituencies.

The mission arrived in Grenada Feb. 11.

More than 62,000 Grenadians are registered to vote to decided the country’s next government.

The OAS will present the findings of its report after the election.
