The Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort in St Lucia will be undergoing a multimillion-dollar upgrade, the resort announced.

The project has the support of the government, according to Mark Ozawa, general manager at the resort.

“We look forward to making a formal announcement on the first phase of the expansion which will be a new Spa and we look forward to starting construction in the next few months,” he said in a release. “Soon we will also formally announce our new three year 21 million dollar villa renovation programme which will bring Windjammer up to a new level.”

The project will also include “ongoing renovations” at the resort.

“This hotel has been a good friend of this country and they have believed in Saint Lucia over the years and I am extremely happy that this confidence is being translated into the investment which the general manager has announced,” St Lucia Prime Minister Dr Kenny Anthony said. “Saint Lucia badly needs investment.”

The upgrade was announced on Tuesday during a staff appreciation dinner.
