Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar will soon meet with Tobago House of Assembly Chief Secretary Orville London.

The talks will focus on “a number of issues whose resolution could contribute to the promotion of harmony in the affairs of Trinidad and Tobago,” according to a Tobago press statement.

London’s People’s National Movement swept Tobago’s Jan. 21 vote, winning all 12 seats in the House of Assembly.

One week later, London wrote the Prime Minister requesting an “urgent meeting” to discuss issues including a review process for the granting of internal self-government to Tobago, a review of the relationship between government ministers and Tobago secretaries and funding for housing programmes in Tobago.

The discussions will represent the first official meeting between the two in almost a year.

The People’s National Movement is the Opposition party in Trinidad’s Parliament.
