The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association has named Vanessa Ledesma its director of operations, the organization announced Friday.

Ledesma will have responsibilities for the day-to-day oversight of the association. She will retain her role as the CHTA’s director of conferences and events, which she has held for the past 12 years.

“As we commence our search for the next director general, our CHTA staff will continue to handle the daily business of the Association alongside our volunteer leaders,” said Richard Doumeng, president of CHTA, in a release.

Ledesma, who joined the CHTA 14 years ago, will assume her new responsibilities Feb 1.

The CHTA held its Caribbean Travel Marketplace conference on Paradise Island in the Bahamas earlier this week.
