OAS Mission Arrives in Grenada

An OAS electoral technical mission has arrived in Grenada to conduct an independent assessment of the country’s voter registration system.

The mission is in the country at the request of Grenada Prime Minister Tillman Thomas.

The six-person team includes specialists in the areas of electoral law, electoral statistics and electoral technology. It will be in Grenada for two weeks.

The team, which arrived on Monday, has held meetings with the Governor General, along with Thomas, Opposition Leader Keith Mitchell and the Supervisor of Elections.

The mission will be meeting with government officials, political parties, civil society groups and others during its trip.

Following the mission, the OAS General Secretariat will present a report on its findings.
