Haiti Tourism Minister Stephanie Villedrouin is heading to Montreal to sign a tourism partnership agreement with Canadian tour operator Transat.

The partnership agreement will involve the promotion of tourism packages to Haiti, as reported by Caribbean Journal last month.

Villedrouin’s three-day drip, which begins Tuesday and lasts through Thursday, will also include meetings with members of Haiti’s Diaspora and Canadian media organizations.

Transat, one of the largest integrated tourism companies in the world, will begin launching vacation packages to Haiti Jan. 23. Air Transat currently makes weekly flights to Haiti from Montreal.

It is the first major Canadian tour operators to offer packages to the country.
